Is Honors Bio enough for AP Bio?

I took honors biology this year and was wondering if I can take the AP biology test. I know it’s late and that honors bio doesn’t go as in depth as AP bio, but if there’s a chance I can get a score above a 2, I’d like to take it. Based on your experiences, how much harder is AP bio than honors bio? Would I be able to prepare for it well enough to get above a 2 with a study book? I’ve been doing okay in honors: I got an A last semester. I don’t really have much to lose (other than $96), because I’m never going to take AP bio as a class, so if I don’t take the AP test this year, I probably never will. Thanks.

One of my friends took the AP Bio test after Honors and got a 4. If you want to take the exam, pick up a review book and make sure you know everything in it (for example, Barron’s). Also, prepare yourself for the FRQ questions by practicing with the released questions on the CB site.

You have nothing to lose because AP scores are self-reported on college apps, and if you can also cancel whatever scores you don’t want to appear on the AP score report.
