I'm interested in computers but Computer Science involves too much math and science. I'm currently a Marketing major so if I switched to IS then I wouldn't have to switch colleges cause it involves business. Is this a good field for the job market?

My company hires many of them even in the depth of the recession.

Do you go to the University of Florida?

Yea, MIS is a really good major - much better than marketing. You’ll have a lot more job opportunities since you’re actually learning a legitimate skill. MIS is similar to CS but less math and not quite as intense. Here at UT, the MIS majors get recruited by lots of decent consulting firms like Accenture, Capgemini and Deloitte Consulting.

Talk to the college that offers the degree to see where MIS grads from your school go after graduation. They’d know better than any of us.

Yes, I do go to UF! I think the program is ranked #18th out of public universities so I would think it would be a good option.
