Is it a bad idea to double-major in film and economics?

I'm an admitted student to New York University, and I'll be majoring under Film as my primary at the Tisch School of Arts.

I have no doubts about this being the career path that I want to take, but I am wondering if it's a bad idea to double-major and take on economics as second major?

I would've preferred for business or marketing or advertising to have been a second major, but those are not available options for Tisch students (we are only permitted to have a minor/second major within Tisch or within the NYU College of Arts and Science).

With that being said, is it a bad idea to double-major with economics? Will finding a job be just as difficult? Can it serve as a "fall back" of sorts? What is the difference between double-majoring and minoring?

(I know it's a lot of questions; I'm sorry.)

Econ is a great major that is useful in many industries - good choice. Majoring vs. minoring means you take fewer courses in that discipline, making it easier to finish the degree. Some employers may care if it’s not a major.
