im majoring in business admin and one of the courses is econ 102 (you take that before econ 101 right?) i want to take it during summer so i can have a class and the teacher is an easy A.

would it be stupid to take a class on my major so early in school and during a short summer session with an easy teacher (basically i wont learn much)

What makes you think you should take 102 before 101?

If you're not expecting to learn much, I wouldn't bother. Getting into Haas is only the first step. You've got to keep up with everyone else once you're there and you're going to have a hell of a time if you've got a weak understanding of econ.

i would like to correct that statement,
look at the haas courses.
it depends where u wanna put your focus on
if ur not going towards the econ direction it doesn't really matter
i took 1 econ pre req in the winter, 2nd english in winter, breadth reqs in the summer
does it really matter?

from the econs i have taken, they are really different.
one is mainly theory, the other is more formula based.
i doubt taking one before another would make a difference, thats if ur allowed to

if they are 2 different courses then sure, if they are prereqs to one another then i don't see any choice u have

and mattn, in the end its about who gets in and who doesn't. if ur gonna learn a whole bunch and get a C, you might be the most knowledgeable in haas applicants transfer pool, but do they see how hardcore you are?
reality check, the numbers matter, sad, but true

im not interested in econ really but it is required

my counselor said you have to take 102 before 101 but even so when i checked econ 101 for classes it said Prerequisite: ECON 102

doesnt that mean i need 102 first?

hey if i do not really need to know econ much to get into haas i dont mind, besides some of the people on ratemyprof said that the prof thinks that every one in his class wants to major in econ, so im guessing its good and easy at the same time
