Is it a big difference? (SAT Subject tests)

I got a 780 on MathII last time. How much of a difference would it make at Ivies if I got a 800 in October?

Should I just take another subject? I will retake physics(700), and chem(690).

There will be no difference. SAT Subject test scores are mostly benchmarks that, once met, are not responsible for any decision positive or negative. A 780 is great, and you should focus on physics and chem only from now on. Good job!

Eh, close enough…

Thank you!

I’ll work on my science then!

Can anyone else confirm silverturtle and supercool’s statement that a retake is unecessary?

Well, “unnecessary” is an unclear word here. The simple truth is that, for the most part (e.g., MIT claims to consider anything 750+ to be equal), higher scores yield higher chances, contrary to what supercool claimed. But a twenty point increase on Math Level 2 is so minor that it is highly unlikely to turn any rejections into acceptances.
