Is it a smart idea for a science major to take an accounting class for fun?

I'm kinda thinking about taking an intro-level accounting class, just because it looks interesting. So will gaining some knowledge of accounting be helpful later in life at all?

Also, will it help if I pursue an MBA degree later, say if I want to get involved in management?

It’s not interesting, but it is useful for sure. Yes it will help to develop a solid foundation of accounting for any business related degree.

It’s incredibly uninteresting.

do you guys really find it un-interesting?

haha, maybe its my professor who makes it enjoyable

i learned alot about the dynamics of business that i dont think i would’ve picked up elsewhere.

(however, i do not see myself as becoming an accountant!)

Yea do it for a couple more semesters, come back and tell us that.
