is it a thing to thank interviewers AFTER acceptance?

i interviewed for two schools which i got accepted to. i already sent both interviewers thank you notes after the interviews. now that i got in, should i send another note saying thanks again, i got in?

You will never be faulted for the courtesy of thanking someone who has played a role in your success. That applies to college interviewers, fellow classmates or employees, teachers, or even parents :).

One of my son’s teachers asks only one thing of those for whom he writes recommendations. If you are accepted and are the first one from the school to be accepted for whom he wrote a recommendation, he asks that you get a school pennant that he can hang in the classroom. There are many schools represented and some very impressive ones… It’s a low key way to see his track record and the students really want to be the one who brings in a new school…

Interviewers will appreciate it if you let them know if you were accepted or not. My kids let their interviewers (alums) know when they were accepted and that they planned to attend. The interviewers seemed to appreciate it. At schools with low acceptance rates it can be rare for a student that an alum interviewed to get in, so they’re usually very excited when it happens. My kids contacted them via email.

I forgot to add that they each wrote a short email to the interviewers within a few days after the interview thanking the interviewer for taking the time to met with them. Short, sweet and to the point. Polite and appropriate.

@jandjdad One of the teachers at my school does the same thing. I wonder if it’s the same teacher lol.
