Assuming that I'm transferring from another UC.

no it isn’t.

EDIT: maybe it is.
you’d have to pick a very easy major which is not impacted
you’d need a lot of AP credits
and you’d need to enroll at 2 or 3 different CCs full time at each.
also consider winning the olympics, starting a major non charity or being elected to high office.

good luck.

1 year is probably a bit more feasible FYI.

They don’t accept winter/spring transfers.

If you meet the requirements for junior transfer (large number of AP credits and lots of CCC courses while in HS), then you could apply as a junior transfer after attending CCC for one semester. However, majority of the UCs have closed Winter and Spring application cycles due to budget cuts; so you will have to apply for Fall (application opens in November).

If you do not meet the requirements for junior transfer, then you may apply as a lower division transfer. Only a few majors at a selected number of UC campuses are open for lower division transfer, so unless the major you are interested in happens to be available, you are out of luck.

Sorry guys, I mis-typed when I said “one semester”. I meant “one year”

Possible! Living proof =) (Although I’m still waiting for Berkeley)
But you need to AP credits and take on a heavy load, which means a practically non-existent social life.

@Dfa4ever- Where are you transferring from? How many AP credits and how heavy of a courseload are we talking about here?

Thanks!

ucb requires you transfer as a junior after 2 years. all other schools, after a year. according to someone i know.

@ bothwings: I had 7 AP tests for which I qualified to receive college credit, so about 21 college credits right there. I took a full 8 credit summer session. During fall, I took 20 credits (5 at WestLA and 15 at SMC) I took 3 credits during winter session. Now in spring I’m taking 14 credits. I also had 3 credits at WestLA for a psych class I took two summers ago. I also had to work 10 hours a week and at least another 10 hours devoted to my ECs. I’m technically transferring from Santa Monica College.

@jyi90: it’s actually not really measured by how many “years” you’ve been at a CCC. It’s just if you have 60 transferable credits, you will transfer with junior standing. Some of the UC’s do take sophomore transfers but that’s like UCM and maybe UCR depending on the year.
