Is it bad if my senior GPA is a 2.8 if my GPA for 10th and 11th is 3.1?

I got into UCSC with a GPA of 3.1, but I'm probably going to get around a 2.8 senior year. On their conditions of admission it just says to maintain your current level of achievement. 2.8 is relatively close to 3.1 and I got as low as 2.5 several semesters in sophomore and junior year. Should I still worry?

(Also, my total high school GPA average should be barely 3.0 if I do get a 2.8 senior year, higher if I count freshman year.)

I don’t think that should be a problem unless you have any kind of merit-based scholarship. I know that students can be rejected after they’ve been accepted, but it doesn’t happen very often and it’s usually because that student got D’s or got in serious trouble.

Okay, I was just worrying because I read that UCSC is really strict on the 3.0 during senior year. Did you go to UCSC by chance?

I don’t even think you need a 3.0. It says on the conditions of admissions that you just aren’t allowed to drop below a C

I’ve heard that they frequently do rescind admissions for it though even if it’s not strictly required. Do you know if that’s true or not?

Just don’t get below a ‘C.’
