Is it bad the I have to take both SAT subject tests in junior year?

Hey guys, I am starting to get worried because I pushed both of my subject tests (Math 2 and Chem) all to junior year. Most people took one in 10th grade, but I was not ready so I didn’t. I have a pretty hard work load as well as the SAT in October. Will I be able to manage a (800 + on both)? Any ideas on how to ease stress?

Few schools actually require them. So if you don’t apply to those schools, then you don’t have to take them at all.

Right, I agree with the first response; many schools don’t require subject tests at all or don’t require ACT takers to submit subject tests. If you have particular colleges in mind to send applications to next year, check those requirements. I don’t know about “most people” taking them in 10th grade either. Generally students are advised to take subject tests concurrently with the AP, so many kids aren’t taking APs in foreign language for example until their third or fourth high school year. I also cannot assure you that you will score an “800+” but look into meditation strategies for dealing with stress.

Totally normal- most students don’t take them before that.

But, you can’t score an 800+ …the top score is 800

Also, once you are well into the 700s, from an admissions point of view, there is no difference.

Take them in the Spring of Junior year. Assuming that you are taking those classes jr year, that works out the best for timing. My daughter took 2 sophomore year and it was a disaster. She got almost 200 pts higher jr year as she had more applicable coursework at school that year.

I am taking AP calculus AB next year will that help for the math 2?

AFAIK, Math II only tests through pre-calc. My son took at the end of pre-calc, spring of 10th grade.
