i took a class at OCC and retook it at GWC which have the exact same classes and they are in the same district. A lot of students that go to one school, takes classes at the other. Is it bad if you fail a class and retake it at another college its bad? I mean I know its bad failing it in the first place, but budget cuts made it impossible to get in at OCC so I took it at GWC. Thoughts?

interesting question…

i know if you retake a failed course at the same CC the failed grade is replaced with the higher grade but it is noted on your record that you retook the course.

as for a different district…i would assume it is the same thing since the grade remains on your record. id ask each CC as to what is going to happen.

retaking it isnt looked down upon heavily as people are human and do make mistakes. just dont have multiple retakes, drops, or W’s. 1 is okay though :)

If you retake a substandard grade you won’t be immediately credited if took at a different school even if the equivalent course. That means your GPA at the school with the substandard grade won’t be improved without an appeal and/or academic renewal.
