Is it bad to write about religion in supplement essay?

This is the prompt for one of the supplements in Notre Dame:

Notre Dame's mission statement emphasizes an education should "create a sense of human solidarity and concern for the common good that will bear fruit as learning becomes service to justice." Describe an experience that engaged you both intellectually and morally.

I wanted to write about an activity we do at church. Is it bad to bring in religion to a college essay? Notre Dame IS a catholic school, but I'm still unsure. Help?

as long as your focus remains on YOU and how you were engaged, i don’t see why not.

Hmm. I guess it should be alright then, but I might need another opinion. It’s not like I’m trying to preach anything in the essay. But will someone read it for me and see if its too…controversial? No worries, it’s a short essay.

you can PM it to me!

Thank you! I’ll PM it to you right now. Tell me if you don’t get the message.
