Is it better to do pre-med at one college than another?

I'm guessing it would be harder to get a high GPA at Revelle than at Marshall. Is this necessarily true? I'm really worried about the pre-med competition. I really want to go to UC San Fran : /.

hey! i guess it COULD be harder to get a higher gpa at revelle than at marshall, but this would only be due to the college GEs and not the upper div and major classes you take. For example Revelle has 5 qtrs of humanities (I HATE THIS CLASS CUS ITS RIDICULOUSLY HARD!!!) and marshall has--i think 3 quarters?--of DOC which is their college's writing program. So yeah..it could make a difference b/c more HUM classes can kill the revelle premed, but it should not be a problem since all premeds will take the designated science and math prereqs for med school which adds up to a lot more quarters than the GEs--at least the GEs that are considered tough. so after lots of qtrs of the classes that really count...the field should be level for all premeds.

the only other contributing factor do lower gpa i can see is choice of major. bioengineering vs general bio. bioE is a lot more difficult to do well in b/c of the more hardcore classes u need to take for that major.

yeah i think im babbling but hopefully u get the jist of it. colleges dont matter, its the classes you have to take..and in the grand scheme of things...the major you choose dictates the amt of work you need to put it to get the gpa.
