I got into Pre-med at revelle is it better to do pre-med here rather than the other 5 colleges of San Diego, and i consider myself average when it come to my intellect if i work really hard at revelle can i still get high than a 3.7? How hard is ucsd bioengineering / pre-med that is what i am doingat revelle?

I'm at Revelle too, majoring in Human Biology so I can get into medschool. I'd like to know as well. All I've been hearing is that Revelle is superhard because of the many GE reqs.

dont trip! revelle is pretty cool. I dont know about the other colleges but revelle is one of the most spirited and we have lots of random events. For example..we saved the most energy in our dorms (OMG!..hahaha) compared to other colleges and we got free burgers. We celebrated Revelle's bday recently and everyone got cake. Sometimes they randomly give out ice cream! these FREE food events have probably happened like 7+ish times already.

our college assembly does a great job putting on events too..there are usually posters around revelle to advertise them. i usually check out some with my friends.

Dorms are not bad..that is unless you get fleets..those rooms are SMALL. and if you have a triple in there...hahaha..im sorry but its kind of "game over" for you..i have seen triples in fleets..not something to be excited about. The better dorms are Argo and Blake (bigger rooms too) and they are more friendly i guess cus we are arranged in a square shape so ppl can walk around on the floor and pop into their friends' places if they want to.

GEs are yeah...not great but you can pass out of A LOT. US history AP gets you out of the history req. Passing AP Foreign language class or 700+ on SATII for foreign lang gets you out. and when ppl talk about revelle they say "OMG THERE IS SO MUCH MATH, CHEM, BIO, PHYSICS for GEs!" ..and i say "well, if you are a science major (like you guys who i assume are both premeds)..then you have to take those classes ANYWAY before applying to med school. BioE is pretty demanding i think..u gotta take the physics 2 series which i heard is pretty hard and you have to finish the math20 series A-F. Human bio only needs phys1 series (non engineering) and math 20A-C or 10A-C.

so i wouldnt worry, Revelle is pretty tight..lots of SMARTIES here too and the way the Argo/Blake dorms are set up lets you socialize easily if you wanna visit people or meet random ppl. CLICS (its a library and is a pretty popular place to study) is right next to the dorms so its convenient. York, which is a lecture building, holds the lower div chem classes (not sure about upper div chem) which you guys will take so its nearby too. Main gym (smaller than RIMAC but i go here cus it pretty much has everything you need anyway) is near muir, but revelle is next to muir so its like a 5 minute walk. Tennis courts, vball pits, small indoor pool, and a large field are all in between Revelle and Muir.

Hm, sounds good (besides the tiny dorm situation.) Thank you so much for the info! As I said, all I've been hearing about Revelle is the awful GE reqs, but your description is really helpful. :]

what are the dorms like at revelle? what is the likelihood of getting a single suite type of dorm?
