Is it difficult to switch schools?

I applied to the School of Engineering because I was in this phase of thinking I would do some engineering discipline. However, now the only ones I would want to do do would be Chemical Engineering or Materials or something like those… which BU doesnt have. Would I be able to switch into Arts and Sciences? (where I would have my Chemistry, or Math, among other, majors) Should I try now, or wait until the beginning of my freshman year if I decide to go? (well I havent been accepted, but i think BU is a match for me)

you can switch at orientation usually, as long as they haven’t over-admitted the colleges.

Bloody easy. I literally called up, made an appointment, and told the advisor that I wanted to switch to SMG. She wrote me a list of which class I’d have to take and I was told to register the very next semester.

You should ask to changed after you’ve gotten accepted. I got accepted ED last year and changed towards the end of my senior year. If possible, try to change before orientation because at orientation you’re put into groups based on your school, so you don’t want to go to orientation and have to switch groups and figure out all that stuff there.

Also, some schools you need ‘advising PINs’ to sign up for classes and if, on the student link, you’re under a school that you don’t want to be in anymore you have to go through the process of contacting a higher-up or whatever to change your school and then make your schedule. It’s kind of just a hassle to change during orientation, so just call in beforehand. It’s really easy.

I e-mailed them asking to change, and they changed it for me! That was easy, haha
