I saw on the brochure that 63% of USC's transfer students are from local community colleges. The question is, would Annenberg admission officers give me some benefits because I came from NYU's Steinhardt School of Communications? Or would my grades be weighed the same as someone else from a local California community college?

Stay in New York.

haha, Everhard.

In your opinion, does NYC provide more opportunities than LA to jumpstart my career in mass media communications & international business?

Stay at NYU!! seriously.

if you really want your credits to go through and get to USC, go to comm college. i know its not the most desirable thing, but its the most practical.

uh, nvm then :) Just trying to keep my options open.

There's no way I'd go to a california community college, or even UCSD (do they even have business as a major?) just to possibly transfer to USC.

I know quite a few people who transferred from NYU their second year, I'm pretty sure their credits transferred all right. I don't know about grades being weighted differently though.

talk with an academic advisor at USC and let them advise you on the best course of action. only they can give you the best recommendation on how to bring the most credits with you to USC.

Regardless of what your plan is, go to NYU. Apply for USC transfer if you still believe that USC is a better choice but don't expect anything. If you go to a community college and do not get into USC, the situation will be worse.

^

agreed, thanks!
