Is it easy to get into College of Arts&Science @Boston College &could people provide their STATS

Hi, I have a lot of interest in Boston College. Although, I feel that I do not have the STATs that could even get me accepted. Whoever sees this, please provide your stats and everything (with details would really help). Also, it doesn’t just have to be Boston College, it could be universities that are similar to Boston College. I don’t know…I am really stressed. I am taking my last SAT in August and am hoping for a 720-760 on math and a 670-700 on reading. please help

Are you aware that colleges post admissions stats on their websites? Google the college name and “class profile” to find stats in the admissions section of the college’s website, or google “common data set” (see section C of the Common Data Set for test score info or look up the college at NCES https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/)

For BC, try the most recent news article about the admissions season:
http://bcheights.com/2018/03/26/bc-accepts-27-percent-2022-applicants/
(mean SAT for Class of 2022 admitted students 1448)

or page 32 of the Factbook for Class of 2021 enrolled student stats:
http://www.bc.edu/publications/factbook.html
(middle 50 percentiles of enrolled students, EBRW 650-720, Math 650-740)

Hopefully BC will post more info about the stats for enrolled Class of 2022 students early this fall, either in a news article or in the admissions section of the website.

To answer the question in your title, no, it is by no means easy to get accepted to BC. BC does not publish admissions stats by school.

Son had 3.85 unweighted 4.83 weighted 32 ACT 11 out 12 in the writing. National honor society, Executive senior editor yearbook, Student government, many volunteer hours. Many AP classes and much more. Waitlisted regular decision then rejected. That was two years ago and I understand it’s only getting harder.

One example for Morrissey college of arts. 2018 admission. 4.0uw. Validectorian. 13 aps. Nmc. Ap scholar. 1520ish sat 35 ss act. Sports leadership volunteering. Recent orientation she attended said most of the students where pretty much near top of their class and great scores. Interesting etc.

she was ea. So I don’t know rd.

But 32k apps. 24k rejected. 5k waitlisted and next to none accepted from the list. 15 last year and probably less than 100 this year too.

That being said you never know and interesting and unique people are accepted with lower stats. Many are athletes. But that’s not all.

Give it a go and do your best. There’s hundreds of top top schools out there that will be equally great for anyone in long run.

Hi @verycurious92:
For pure stats, I agree with others who suggested you look at the BC factbook.

You may also want to read through past years’ “decision” threads on this forum for BC. In those threads you many students reply with “accepted, rejected, deferred, waitlisted” along with their academic profile, ECs, etc.

It’s always interesting every year to see some with a very high academic profile not get accepted, while others with a lower academic profile getting in.

Search for replies by scottj and bluebayou. They provide some great insight into “why BC”, which is something that should come through to the reader in your application.

Does your school use Naviance? If so, I would start there.

Last, it’s OK and somewhat normal to be stressed. As privatebanker noted above: “Give it a go and do your best.”

All the best.

2017 cycle EA Deferred, RD rejected. FL male 3.96 UW / 6.0 W, 1420 SAT, AP Scholar w Distinction, Class President, Varsity Baseball all 4 yrs (captain 2 yrs), Link Mentor, School Ambassador, Was schools Jefferson Scholar nominee for UVA, Named all around student of the yr Soph - Senior., etc.

But it was for the Carroll School .

That"s brutal.
