I am an entering freshman of UW, but with sophomore credits (quarter credits) because I did Running Start (taking college classes in college campus during high school).

High School GPA: 3.9297/4.00
Class Rank: 1/154 as of late April (Not when Spring quarter grades are posted, but I had 4.0 in that quarter, so probably I'm still the 1st)

SAT (Best of): 1650, Read 480, Write 480, Math 690
SAT Chinese with Listening: 790
ACT (Best of): 25, Eng 22, Read 23, Write 21, Math 34, Science 24

Number of college credits: 60 quarter credits. Approx. 18 credits additional every other quarter. I.e, 40 semester credits. Approx 20-24 credits additional every semester.

Extra curricular activities:
Volunteer Homework Center Tutor: 6 hrs/week. Helped design theme poster.
Badminton: Since 7th grade to 10th grade. School team, champions/1st/2nd runner-ups
Outstanding athlete (Within my school)

Is it even possible to transfer into UCB? What about UCLA? I have sooo low SAT/ACT scores. Not impressing extra curricular stuff. Not California State student. Intended major: Business (probably 0%), Economics.

I’m going to say there’s a very, very slim chance, not because you’re a poor applicant (obviously not), but because of how the system tends to work against transfers from 4-year schools. You have the absolute lowest priority for transfer at both UCLA and Cal. Nobody knows how your classes will transfer (so maybe you will have 90 units by spring…or maybe you won’t) or how they will articulate as pre-reqs. You need to have basically all the pre-reqs complete for something competitive like Business (and Economics at UCLA). Even in-state CCC students apply to those majors with insane extracurriculars (actual experience in the field) and perfect GPAs…and then still get rejected. It’s a crapshoot imo but if you don’t apply, then your chances really are an absolute zero. Just don’t expect very much.

I have all the prereqs for business schools in Washington already like micro and macro economics and accounting and statistics and calculus… but yeah I think the two systems are just SO different. I was looking at the courses list and they look totally different and complicated… Sigh. So I guess I’ll have to apply as a Sophomore?

First off, your GPA is fantastic! Good job! A proven track record (especially with college classes) is far more important than a SAT score.

That said, UCB’s Haas Business school is really really really hard to get into - AFAIK even with a 4.0 GPA, you’d better be feeling pretty lucky when you apply As oceanpartier said, it’s got nothing to do with your stats or record - they’re excellent.

If you really want to do it though, go for it I don’t know what your motivations are (University of Washington is pretty well ranked isn’t it?) but if you want a change it’s worth a try :D
