Is it even worth applying?

I was in the Philadelphia/Eastern PA area recently (visiting Lehigh) and walked through UPenn and really liked it however I am pretty sure that I wouldn't get in. I would appreciate it if you could give me my chances if any, or if you've known anyone that got in with similar scores/credentials.

Well, even if Penn is a reach, if it has what you want in a school, by all means apply. You have a decent resume and there probably more assets you are not mentioning. If you really want Penn, your desire should be evident. Reach high :)
Best of luck.

ps:did you take any SAT/SAT IIs?

[*I have a friend whose son got into Yale [partly] because of his crew experience in high school. Of course he was also a great student, but you could be the 1 in 7/10/16 that gets accepted because of the balance of your resume, rather than the multitude that get rejected. Believe in yourself, demonstrate your assets, and tell them why you want to study at their schools.]

SATs:570 CR 720 M 580 W (Not the greatest standardized test taker seeing my brother got 700 CR 790 M)
SAT IIs:720 Math 630 US History(uh oh)

I realize that there are plenty of other schools that I can get into that I would definitely enjoy. However after visiting I really enjoyed the campus/location and obviously the education that I could receive is superb.

Are you thinking about applying as an athlete, a 30 act, and everything else may give you a good chance of getting in.........

I can't give you a good answer because I am in the same boat as you, applying to UPenn RD....

Chance Me....

I don't think my chances are very good, more like unfavorable, but I just thought it was probably worth a shot because Collegeboard says the middle 50% is 29-33 (although it might be outdated), but I'm hoping they see I balanced everything well throughout high school. Good thing there is always other options.

i think its now 30-34 on the actual website they give the stats for 2012
