Is it getting harder to Transfer?

I am currently transferring from Ohio State to a Florida school (i'm a Florida resident). I was looking at UCF and USF. I sent in my app to both schools, got accepted to USF within a week, but got denied admission to UCF. I received an AA degree from a Florida community college and I have roughly a 3.0 GPA. I figured if I can get accepted into Ohio State University as an OOS, then UCF should be no problem. Are they making cuts or something?

I sent in an appeal letter to them, and awaiting to hear back from them. So far all my family and friends (some of which go to UCF) cannot believe why they would reject me, especially since I have an AA degree.

Well, I just checked my UCF and this is what I found:

Your application for admission to the University of Central Florida has been carefully considered by the Admissions staff. Due to the academic strength of this year’s applicant pool, we regret that we are unable to offer you admission for the Fall 2009 term.

What a joke!. I have a 3.7 GPA!!! and 112 credit hours completed. I have a professional license and very solid work history and great essay. I really don’t know what happened here?

Try to reapply for spring/summer 2010. That is absolutely crazy with a 3.7 GPA that you were not accepted. I would go through the appeal process if I were you. My friend with a 3.0 was accepted for Spring, no problem.

It seems as though UCF is expanding beyond its means; obviously it is a large school, but they keep accepting HUGE amounts of freshman and consequently, the place is overcrowded. I mean parking is A NIGHTMARE.
