Is it hard to double major in Psychology?

I am pol sci and I want to double major in Psych. I don't have any prereqs completed, so I was hoping I could do them while doing my upper division work for pol sci, then spend a 5th year doing my psych major

It depends how many semesters/units you have completed and how much more you’ll need for Poli Sci. I’d recommend laying out a general course plan for your remaining semesters (more to determine course load per semester rather than specific placement of classes each semester) to ensure that you can complete the double major. Make sure that you fall within the unit cap too. I don’t think any exist, but check to see if any upper-div electives are cross-listed under both Psychology and Poli Sci. Also, you may want to take summer classes or complete some of the Psych pre-reqs at a community college if you need space. I’d also get input from L & S, Psych, and/or Poli Sci advisers to ensure that your plans are feasible.

8 upper division classes are required for Psychology major and there is no overlap with political science major- quite difficult to get double major done in 2-3 years, in addition to 8 pre-requisites classes (however, it can be covered from AP or community college at summer) .

Thanks you two. yeah I already made a plan and I can finish it if I take all the summer sessions (I want to since I have nothing else to do in the summers lol). I will def contact an adviser
