I'm currently a senior in Syracuse University. I only got 3.2 in my GPA and no internship experience. is it really hard to get a job in banking field or marketing related field like my condition?? Is 3.2 in finance major a really bad gpa?

I don’t mean to hijack this thread… But what kind of GPA would be necessary to get a corporate finance job right out of college? On one hand I’ve heard that corporate finance is pretty much the lowest finance job available but I’ve also heard that corporate finance is pretty competitive right out of college.

Is your major GPA higher than your overall? I don’t think you can get a corporate job initially; it is very competitive. If you are extroverted enough it may still be an uphill battle and you may be looking at commission work selling annuities/insurance doing more sales work than finance. I never finished finance double major, but did some interviews, then went back and finished accounting instead. No harm in trying for large firms. You may need additional education or licenses to get hired.
