Is it harder to get into UMD with a major in government/politics?

<p>I see that it is a limited major so would it smarter to apply into something differnt and then switch or just to apply and see what happens?</p>

<p>I believe that if you do not meet the requirements in terms of average SAT/ ACT for your intended major, you’ll be placed into CLAS (College of Letters and Science).</p>

<p>when you apply to maryland, you are first reviewed for admissions to UMCP, regardless of major. Then, if you have a limited Enrollment major, your application is sent to that specific school for review. so it doesn’t matter if you initially apply for GVPT or L&S. So applying for GVPT initially wouldn’t be a big deal.</p>
