Is it just me or is Conrell's reputation becoming more and more of a joke?

LOL this thread made my day.

…C’mon people.
There’s gotta be more productive things you can do than argue about a freakin’ school.

Yes, I’m a freshman at Cornell right now.
Yes, it has so many problems that sometimes I want to tear my hair out and elbow people in the face.
Yes, it is so far away from civilization that we only have one mall - with one floor.

But honestly. It’s a nice school. They’ll give you a good education. It’s full of great people.

Isn’t that the bottom line?

^
I hope you don’t spend your entire time there pining to be around a bunch of sterile generica malls. How much stuff would you need to buy from one of those places to be happy? Figure that number out, take a weekend trip, and free yourself to really enjoy what Ithaca is rather than focus on what it is not.

In its own way, Ithaca’s a mecca of civilization (a lot of really progressive concepts have emerged from there) and gorgeous nature all its own (not too many places you’ll live with massive waterfalls just outside your door). Not trying to be mean at all, but I’d suggest you find the greatness of that quirky city and enjoy it before you find yourself surrounded by multi-floored malls for the rest of your life and someday start wanting something a little different! :)

Good overall point, btw.

First of all, who the f**k is Conrell?

I’m surprised this thread is even still popular.

Ok, we’ve officially stopped arguing about EVERYTHING on this thread.

This is really sad…

Anyone care to elaborate on Cornell’s faults? I’m interested, since I AM going there next year…

Srsly. I really feel bad for Conrell right now. Just getting dumped on for no reason on some college thread. Poor guy :-(

That mall is fairly good imo.

Ithaca is far more civilized than most cities in this country.

I would like to know if you can hop on a bus and visit NYC for a weekend? Is this common to do if a student at Cornell?

Yes it is.

Not necessarily. (S)he could have just looked at the top threads on the cornell forum, noticed that this one had 4 pages (his/her post being the 5th) and concluded that people are obviously reading and responding, and then commented on the last page without reading.
–just throwing that out there =) .

Thanks for pointing out my exact logic. I got around two sentences in to the OP’s first entry before deciding that I already had a headache.

I kinda have that effect on people… ahah.but someway you ended up commenting on page 6!

I like this thread. It has amused me greatly. Keep it up guys.
