<p>Last time, I got a 34. This time, I think I failed. Why was it so hard?</p>
<p>It was not just you. there are other posts in the ACT prep forum about it any my kid struggled with a lot(first ACT test) although some of his issues were no calculator.</p>
<p>It was pretty hard but overall it was not that bad, just more difficult questions (around 6 for me)</p>

<p>None in general, but yeah, more questions that were harder. But I’m not asking out ACT math being hard, I am asking about TODAY’s version being MUCH hardest han the others</p>
<p>It was more difficult than other past tests and unfortunately I had to take a **** bad, to the point that I could not focus on simple questions. So I lost 5 minutes, which is fine because I’m pretty fast in the math section, but I probably made a lot of bad choices before going to the restroom.</p>
<p>Anyway, I average a 31 on math ACT, so I am anticipating like a 26 :(</p>

<p>JAYAAAANT! i remember that question. I just guessed on all of the answers because I didn’t have much time left and I could answer the others better</p>
<p>Did you think the Math section was much harder than before?</p>

<p>Jayant, Can’t comment directly cause it was my kid’s first and only ACT. I can say he’s the type that whizzes through standardized tests, he was VERY upset about how the math test went, it freaked him out so much he did not do well on the essay either, which was right after the math, and this is very unusual for him. So for what I know about him and how upset he was, the math had to be VERY hard this time around.</p>
<p>I also saw some other posts about kids who had math scores in the 32+ range in the past complaining about how hard this ACT math was and they’d be lucky to get a 25</p>

I took it in September and never felt so bad about it.</p>
<p>Yeah, I got a 36 on math in June, and this was pretty bad…</p>
<p>Same here. Got a 34 on the math in June. Then dropped in September to a 31 in math, and now I’m anticipating just barely a 30 on math with a good curve on the October test.</p>
<p>I think the ACT math is getting tougher in general, because they’re testing such bizarre topics now.</p>
<p>I agree with the OP that the math section was hard, but if it was hard for everyone, hopefully they’ll give a pretty generous curve.</p>
<p>My math score went from a 36 to a 34. Not a huge drop, and def could’ve been worse, but darn, if it didn’t go down, I woulda had a 35 composite.</p>
<p>…really complain more why dont you because my science went from a 34 to a 27, how? I HAVE NO CLUE.</p>
<p>Also my math stayed the same at 33</p>
