Is it just me?

Or has anybody else noticed that a disproportionately large number of people take the same 3 subject tests, those tests being Math 2, physics and chemistry?

It just seems that on every board I turn to, these three tests pop up all the time and together in the same posts.

Any one have any idea why this is so?

If I don't take one of these three tests, will I seem less competitive (even at a school that doesn't care which ones you take), since these 3 are arguably the hardest?

Are having subject tests that are all "non math or sciency" ok or will adcoms secretly not like it even if officially that school has no preference?

I took World History and Japanese with listening and got 740 and 790 respectively. I'm contemplating taking a third one. I was thinking maybe math 2 just to be safe.

Any thoughts?

I'm taking World Math2 and Physics. I almost fit your generalization =]

No, you won't be seen as less competitive. I think it's just that those three are the most math-oriented and closely-related subjects; a lot of people here seem to be leaning towards science/engineering/business type majors, which tend to also attract strong math students.

I always see Math 2, Chem, and US History (which is, coincidentally, what I am taking).

That is because there are far too many Asian people.
Also, Math II and Physics have laughable curves, so why not?

I, for one, took Math I, Latin, and U.S. History.

hee hee hee i took those =)

I took Math 2 and Bio-M. Eff Phys and Chem. :)

Math IIC: im good at math.
Biology (havent decided E or M): corresponds with my intended major
US History: took an AP test, so why not.

i always see math 2, physics, US

haha kwu...
I'm taking Math II and Bio(M). I always see Physics and Chem on here, though. And a constant debate a/b Math II or I.
