I'm sort of new to the SAT II's, so I'm wondering--are there any specific subjects that people are recommended to take? If not, what criteria do you have, or how do you choose which ones you're taking? Thanks.

Math IIC - because UCs require a math and topics on MathIC are too distant for me
Physics - because I like it & it makes so much sense
US History - because I'm really good at it

MathIIC- Everyone should take a math sat 2
World and US History- Cause i own/enjoy history. Most people would discourage taking 2 histories, but I suggest just taking sats u kno u'll do well on, in my case, history.

Math I and IIC = =] I like figuring things out.
Chem = I enjoy learning in Chemistry class instead of Biology. I feel confident I will do very well in it.
US History = I'm taking APUSH and I think I will do fine in it. xD

Biology - Even though I took it freshman year (I'm not a junior), I'm self-studying just because I like it, and I'm good at it
US History - Taking AP USH; makes sense.
Math IIC - B/c UCs require it...I'm not so hot in math, though. =/

KissMeKate; It's best to take the SAT II in the subject that you are taking in the same school year.

Math IIC - Be*cause*. Oh, and the schools I want require it.
Bio M - Because I want to major in bioengineering, and ecology is boring and easy.
Chem - I love chem, too.
Physics - To simply be hardcore with the sciences.
US History - To display versitality, perhaps? Not so fond of history - however, I'm taking AP next year, so why not.

Physics is hardcore?

Math 2 - Because it's like the only tacitly required SAT II
French - Try out for a program at Wharton
US History - I'm good at it and it's not science
Literature - It's not a science

I'm not taking any sciences... definitely not a science person whatsoever.

I took Math 2C and Biology because Math is required and I needed a science. I plan on taking Chemistry and US History, and maybe Chinese in the fall.

Wow. I feel like an idiot saying this but I took Math 1 (cause I'm in Math Methods and not Math Higher), Biology, Chem, Writing (before it was ripped off and pasted on the SAT I) and Literature. No History because my school concentrates on European History. Which should become an SAT II subject...

Math II: my math teacher's incompetent, and by scoring high 700's (I hope) I will show that to colleges.
US History: I'm simply good at it. I have the AP test the day before I plan to take it.
French: I have AP test the week I plan to take it. No need to study separately. Kind of a convenience thing.
Bio/E: took it, got a 630/61% (ugh) Don't plan to retake.
Korean: might take it. Native speaker. Only offered in November though. Wonder if that'll get to colleges on time for ED.

Well, I'll post anyways even though I've already taken them.

-Math IIC- 800; I took it because some colleges require it and also because it is literally the easiest SAT II ever.
-Literature-800; I really like reading so it was a natural one
-Chemistry-780; I was taking chemistry during my "testing phase" so why not?

I took them a while ago, but here are my reasonings:

Biology M - because I rocked at Honors Bio, though the teacher was insane
Math IIc - because you pretty much have to take a math one, and I was in precal
US History - I was in AP, and my teacher was incredible
Lit - because I was in AP Lang & Comp, and was told I'd do fine

760,760,770,720.

World History- currently in World History Honors (school doesn't offer AP), and am self-studying for the AP World History test
Literature- I'm a natural reader, and even though I find the poetry sections to be slightly too abstract, I can deal pretty well with it.

My criteria was to choose the ones that I finished the course in right before the test, so that it is fresh in my mind, and to choose the ones that I do naturally well in that subject area.

Math 2... because UCs and other places require it. I'll take that this year, at the end of precalc.

French... because I think I'd do well at it. I'll probably take it next year, at the end up French 5 AP.

Chem, probably... because I'll have AP chem next year, as a junior, so I'll take it then.

I don't know if I'll take any others or not...

Bumpp.
:).

Spanish (w/out listening, due to the test date), because those four years of spanish class weren't for nothing!
Literature, because I dominate in all things of the written word. ;)
Biology M, because all that hard work in AP bio junior year should still be put to good use.

Maybe physics in December, but after that, I am DONE with all things dealing with collegeboard until May... ew.

I'm taking two in October.

Math II because some schools require it. (Even though math is my LEAST favorite thing...sigh)

Lit because I like it.

I was considering taking US History as well, but decided not to in the end. I'm just sick of history.

Physics- place out of my Physics H class and go to AP, as well as complete the science trifecta of SAT IIs
Math IIC - took this 18 months ago...should have done better, but now I'm ready for that 800
US history - right after AP, should be a cinch
Spanish - will be tough( different from AP) , doing it because I enjoy learning languages

I'm taking 2 SAT IIs sophomore year:
Spanish: b/c i love it and took a practice test and score 650 (in level 3)
Chemistry: Because i wanna see if i can get 700+, and i m majoring in something science-oriented.
