Is it likely that I won't get housing?

I just applied for housing and my priority number is in the 6000s. Should I start looking at off campus housing or do you think I will be okay? Also, is there off campus housing that I can walk to campus easily and safely?

You should be alright. As long as you apply before the second decision is released, you’ll pretty much always get housing. Plus, keep in mind that many of those 6000 will not be attending FSU or will try to get out of their contract for whatever reason.

when is the second decision released matt125?

yea same question matt125…when do the second decisions come out?

I agree. Those hearing in March need to get on ASAP but if you are part of the December priority group, you will be OK.

As decisions come in from IVY’s and UF and other LAC’s and U’s, not everyone that has a number will attend FSU. You are still OK.

With a number like 6000, you’re almost definitely getting housing. However, you might get stuck at one of the less stellar (for lack of a better phrase) dorm buildings like Salley, Dorman, or Smith. They are community-style and it will take a while to get used to sharing a bathroom with a whole floor. On the bright side, you’ll meet lots of people and live right next to the Fresh Foods Co. dining hall.
If you get extremely lucky, you’ll end up in one of the dorms in the very center of campus, which have the best location. Reynolds, Bryan, and Jennie Murphy (if you’re female), are all pretty standard, only slightly smaller than the good dorms, Degraff, Wildwood, and Landis, and are a step away from the Suwanee Room dining hall. The only downside is that they don’t have wireless internet.
