is it more competitive? columbian v. elliot

i've heard that Elliot is the most competitive school at gwu, but how much more so than the college of arts and sciences? my first choice would be to attend elliot, but it's more important that I just get in and get to attend gwu. will i have a much better chance if I apply to the college of arts and sciences?
stats: 4.0, 2180

thanks for any help

id say you have a good shot at elliott if you show an interest in international affairs and an interest in languages...i just got accepted to elliott so good luck i hope you get accepted too

With a 4.0 and 2180 you should be fine. I am currently in Elliot and my GPA was a little higher (assuming weighted) and my SAT was lower. You should be fine. Go for what you want but just make sure that in your essays you make it clear why you want International Affairs.

If you don't get into Elliot..but are still a good pick for GW, they will admit to CCAS. I am a soph. and I heard this last year. Maybe you should call and talk to someone about just in case though.

I've heard differently the only case where you would be reviewed for CCAS if you didn't get accepted to your preference is SMPA which is under the CCAS. I would definitely call the admissions office to make sure.
