Is it okay if I take Physics Honors with AP Chemistry?

So I have course selections next year and so I have to choose classes.

These are my current classes:
Algebra 2 Competition
Spanish 2
AP Computer Science Principles
AICE General Papers
Study Hall
Debate 1 Honors
Chemistry Honors
World History Honors.

Next year classes:
Precalculus competition(with AP Statistics)
Spanish 3 Honors(I do not think I could do pre-aice)
AP Computer Science A
AICE English Lang AS(My English teacher recommended me)
Physics Honors
AP Chemistry
Study Hall 2
AICE Geography AS

My extracurriculars are chess, debate, and also I am in mu alpha theta.

Honestly I would not suggest two lab sciences at once. Take AP Chem as a senior.

What are you thinking of majoring in college?

I agree with Bopper. Save Ap Chem for senior year. Your junior schedule is quite rigorous as is, unless you didn’t take US history freshman year and don’t plan on taking ir senior year, in which case it should replace or supplement AICE geo.

How many periods do you have per day? Both sciences are typically lab courses. At our HS, at best, you could interleave the labs and have the 2 sciences consume 3 periods. Do you have 9 classes per day?

It’s “okay” to take both, but a history/social studies course may be a better choice. Is US history/APUSH an option?

Kid is a freshman. So next year’s schedule is sophomore year.

My chemistry teacher said if I get A in chemistry and B or higher in Algebra 2 Honors then I can go to AP Physics 1. I suppose the teacher is very good. If I get B in both then I can take Honors Physics.

Also my major is probably physics related like a major in physics or engineering.

Also I am a sophmore next year as I am a freshman currently.

If you intend to be a physics or engneering major in college, why do you need to take AP Chem now?

I don’t believe OP said there was a need to take AP Chem. But I see nothing wrong with taking it, if part of a smart schedule and 4-year plan.
