Is it okay to get a C in Spanish?

Hello fellow CCers, I have a knawing question. This year I have amazing grades, except for one little thorn. Last year, I had depression, so I did not learn much in Spanish II, so I am struggling in Spanish III. my other grades are as follows.

APUSH A
Physics A
APCS B
English A
Trig A
Leadership A

I am in Academic Decathlon and Science Bowl. I taught myself C++. I also tutor kids after school in Mathematics. I may start helping children in reading soon. My desired major is Physics. Would it still be possible to get in?

I am also apart of Leadership, which takes up alot of afterschool time.

As long as you maintain a GPA of 3.0 weighted and no D’s or F’s, you should be ok.

I think he/she might be a junior.

You can get accepted to UC Davis with a C, but it will be a lot harder. I personally don’t know of anyone at Davis who had a C in their sophomore or junior years of high school, but they certainly exist. Explain your depression in your application if you feel it had an impact on you academically.

tzinx: I personally know two students who received a C in their sophomore year and were accepted to UC Davis for Fall 2013. It is possible.

Sure it is possible, you will probably need a UC GPA of 4.0 or better, solid test scores and the ECs you outline. With 2 AP courses, you can offset the one bad mark. Shoot for a B this semester.
