I know it is highly unlikely, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about colleges pushing back deadlines due to the millions out of power from Hurricane Zeta?
There is precedence for this, but it doesn’t always happen. If you and your family were personally and materially affected, then contact admissions.
My guess is that if you managed to find enough power to post here, you can also submit an application.
D21 just received this:
We’re aware that natural disasters are affecting many people in your area and hope you and your family are safe. In the event that you’re considering an Early Decision application to Northwestern and have concerns about meeting our November 1 submission deadline due to school closures, power outages, evacuations, etc., please do your best to submit your Common Application or Coalition Application by November 1, and work with your teachers and counselors to send other documents as soon as possible. We understand that those school/supplemental materials may be delayed.
If your own circumstances will prevent you from submitting your part of the application by November 1, we understand that, too. Please contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you to accommodate the situation.
2020 has been fraught with challenges (COVID, wildfires, hurricanes, etc.) If you are affected I would contact the Admissions Office and ask for an extension.
