Is it possible to do this?

(this is a copy of a previous post I made but didn't get an answer to)

Is it possible to, after finishing senior year in HS, to take a year off to raise credentials? Like having a year to get better SAT scores, more EC's, stuff like that? Also I feel that if I enter the Teen Nationals (premiere bodybuilding competition for teens) after my senior year I may actually have a chance of placing top 3, and then the high placement at the contest will look better on my application.. Or do you have to apply right after your senior year?

Yes. It's definitely possible :) It's called a "halt year" or something, i forget the exact term. Some people do it.

you mean "gap year"?

Vadox6466, yes, it is possible... and yes, it's referred to as a "gap year". It is not uncommon, and it may be useful if you have a clear plan and focus for what you want to accomplish during the "gap year". If you go to the top of the page, and enter "gap year" in the SEARCH field, you can probably get a lot of info. about this option. Good luck!
