is it possible to drop out of csu, go to cc for 2nd year, and transfer to dif. CSU/UC

is it possible to drop out of csu, go to cc for 2nd year, and transfer to dif. CSU/UC?

are all the credits in CA transferable?

A lot of the credits are not transferable from CSU to UC for example speech does not trasnfer to the UC's. Also your gpa and unit count (regardless whether it transfers or not) will follow you into your new school whether it is a cc or whether you transfer into a UC. Iv'e heard of people who have transferred from a CSU to a UC so yes, it is possible but competitive also.

i met a guy who did that, went to sjsu 1rst yr, went to CC for 2 yrs brought his gpa up to 3.4 transferred to UCI,under econ major
of course this is back in 2003

Yes it's possible. The California state education system is very forgiving.

All of the credits from your CC will transfer as long as there is an articulation agreement between said CC and one or more CSU/UCs(check assist.org for info on that). As mentioned before, your CSU credits may have a little more trouble, but you should get the majority, particularly if you go to another CSU.

I'm planning on doing similarly. Important thing to note, however, is that if you start a CSU or UC GPA, you will retain that CSU or UC GPA if you return to the same system (ie, CSU-CC-CSU = same CSU GPA; UC-CC-UC = same UC GPA). Your CC GPA won't be added in or anything, but you will go back to working on top of whatever GPA you had before you left.

went back to cc for 2 years?

wow.....

why 2 years? why not 1 year and then transfeR?

originally at sjsu he was an engineering major
later at CCC switched to business econ

I wish it was possible to wipe credits. I could use a fresh fresh start. I wasn't ready for college. The only way to do that, however, is to skip school until I can be an "adult student," and that'd be bad news for me. :P

Anew again again! Probably going to CC next year, though that's because UCSC is too expensive.

I am currently a freshmen that just started school at UCSD for about a week now. I am not liking the school and professors. Is it possible if I can drop out now and reapply for a different UC or CSU with my high school GPA? Or is there a better chance of me getting in to a different UC or CSU after attending a community college for two years?

Thanks.
