Is it possible to get a research mentor without being a century scholar?

I would really love to work in a professor's lab and do a research project with him, but I am not a Century Scholar. Is this still possible? If so, how difficult would it be to land such a position and how would I go about doing so?

Thanks!

It’s absolutely possible, and many majors will actually require or at least strongly encourage you to participate in research before graduating. Probably the easiest way to start looking for someone to work with is simply to browse through the webpages of faculty members in your area of interest and e-mail ones whose research interests you.
