an 1860 to a 2000? I know a 140 points is a lot but is it possible? My breakdown is
math-580
c.r-610
writing-670

Math is obviously my weakest point but my critical reading was much lower than I was expecting it to be. I thought I would at least get a 650 cr but I guess the March test was really hard or something! Anyways, I'm desperate for a 2000 or higher and am willing to put as much work into it as I need to so please give some advice!

of course. My first practice test around 2 weeks before the test was a 1910, with some prep I was able to raise it to a 2170 on the March SAT.

thats good to know! and congrats on getting such a good score!! what strategies did you use to improve?

i think by yourself where ever you start you have a chance to go up 300 pts. if you goal is more than a 300 pt. improvement this is when i suggest to go to the test prep companies

but test prep can’t really get you up more than 200 pts, if even a 100
i went to kaplan prep which wasnt that good, but it was my first time with the SAT ever, and on their practice tests i got about 1600-1700s. on the real SAT after them i got 1750
then i didnt prep with them, and just did like 10 practice tests on my own
i got to almost 2000 by just doing that (including 800 in math)
so my point is, dont waste your money on those big prep companies
instead i suggest find a really good and educated private tutor who knows what hes doing (unlike some i know who just “tutor” for the money, aka they dont care how well you end up doing)
