heyy~
I ordered some AP prep books from Amazon, and it arrived today,I look through some prep book I ordered and they looks like they requires some basic knowledge and readings in order to understand the material...like the Cliffs AP Bio, it looks pretty simple, and I dunno if I need a bio book to go with it. I can borrow one from school's Bio teacher..but just wondering if I can DO IT(self study) by using prep books only??

I got some preps for the class i'm taking right now so no worries, but these are the prep books I dont know If need to go w/a book ..

AP comparative gov-Ethel wood
Cliff notes AP Bio
AP psychology-Barron's

yep thats it..and maybe AP macro/Micro during January with Princeton's review..i DONT know if I can achieve the AP test with only PR prep books..

I dont know if the material I learned from the prep book will be enough to ..u know, do good on AP test..they seems to be pretty simple and straight forward..

All of those prep books can get you a 5 by themselves. You just have to study them. Last year I only used Ethel and Barrons for Comp Gov and Psych and I got 2 5's.

Get the Campbell's book for Biology. It's incredible. I took AP Bio last year, didn't pay attention in class, but read every chapter of the book. Made a 5 on the test.

^ Yes, if you read the whole of Campbell (and remember everything) you will most definitely get a 5, but that book is full of superfluous information. You might be better off reading prep books and looking it up in the book when you really don't understand something.

lol as you can tell, I'm not a big fan of Campbell... the cause of my many headaches.

Campbell is awesome! :D Read it, it's fun...okay maybe not fun but still... Although if you want to get a 5 on the AP test a textbook is not necessary. My friend studied AP Biology w/o a textbook; just Barron's AP Biology(although practically equivalent to a textbook) and scored a 5.

i think agree with meadow.
I read the cliff notes and lots of thing, it looks like just review and tips from the book..so I guess I will have to get barron's too...
