My son was accepted to Clark school and Gobal community program as well.
But he is not interested in this program so he is considering to be in
Easton building.
However I am wondering why he was not accepted in Scholors.
These are his stat.

Sat: 1380/1600
Act: 31
Wgpa : 4.3

His ECs are not great, very plain and around 260hours community service.
He had an internship during summer at college lab.

Isn't he good enough for being Scholars because Clark school is full of one of the
Smartest kids?
Or can he appeal to switch?

“However I am wondering why he was not accepted in Scholors.”

Scholars is not just for students that are academically talented, but for those that are academically talented AND have demonstrated strong interests outside the classroom - in their words, “engaged.”

So, scholars are not students that join a a few clubs, but those that have demonstrated passion in an outside activity and leadership. (“His ECs are not great…”)

There is no threshold for stats or number of community hours. It is the overall picture of these things combined with the application essays and short answers.

On the link cv1214 provided, you will note:
“We review applications with a broad set of criteria that can be organized into three main areas: academic ability, potential for contributing to our living-learning community (factors such as dedicated involvement in activities outside the classroom), and the potential for enhancing or encouraging discussions, both inside and outside the classroom, that address issues from a variety of perspectives. We have no set high school grade point average or SAT criteria for students whom we invite; whether an applicant is selected is up to our admissions review committee, which is made up of members of the Scholars faculty and staff.”

Thank you for your reply,cv1214 and maryversity.
Then do you mind if I ask what your child’s ECs were because I remember
Your kid are in Scholors.
It would be very helpful .
