<p>Is it possible to take both econ 100a and econ 140 during the same semester?</p>
<p>Officially, Economics 100A (or 101A) is one of the prerequisites for Economics 140 (or 141).</p>
<p>Unofficially, the two classes have nothing in common.</p>
<p>I never tried that, but one of my friends, who is an econ major, had similar thought but got rejected by an undergraduate counselor in the end.</p>
<p>I have only taken 100A and I intend to take 101B and 141 in the Fall. I sent my intended Fall courseload info (101B+141) to the Econ advisor in order to get my advisor code for Telebears and she didn’t forbid me from taking both in the same semester. She just said that it’s strongly recommended that both micro and macro econ be completed before taking econometrics. She also recommended that I talk to the Econ peer advisors who have taken those classes. I still got my advisor code so I don’t think they will stop you.</p>

<p>you don’t need to know anything from econ 100a/100b or even econ 1 for econometrics. It is essentially a statistics class. i dont know about 140 but for 141 you definitely need to remember your stat 134 material.</p>
<p>Yes, in my experience taking it this semester with Woroch, you don’t need to know anything from 100A or 100B.</p>
<p>JetForce - How would someone do in Econ 141 if they havent had econ before? I only have math 53 and 54 and plan to do stat 134 next semester. Would it be too difficult to be in econ 141 at the same time?</p>
<p>During the Telebears Advising event, the economics advisor said they do check prerequisites for Econ 140, so you might get kicked out/rejected.</p>
<p>econ 141 is already hard. By taking it at the same time as stat 134 you’ll start off behind everyone else. i would not recommend it.</p>
