<p>To make a long story short, D graduated HS early and although she could have gotten into a lower level UC (probably UCSC would have been her first choice) if she waited, she decided to go to a CSU. She is now not sure if she wants to stay there or consider transferring at a later time?</p>
<p>Also, how hard is it to transfer between CUS’s</p>

<p>she has to wait till her junior year to go to a UC. she can transfer to a CSU if you live in their service area after one year of attending a community college there. Ie you live in San Diego, so your service school would be San Diego State University. But she is most likely going to have to go to the CSU she was accepted to until her Junior year and then transfer.</p>
<p>The most difficult part of transferring from a CSU straight into a UC is whether or not the classes she has taken will transfer. Many of the courses offered at CSU’s are “CSU only”, thus the UC’s wont accept them. Seeing as the UC does not typically accept lower division transfers, applying to a UC with just over 60 units from a CSU is probably not a wise idea, because you can probably count on a few of those classes not transferring and most likely falling below the 60 unit limit. Has your daughter considered transferring to a CCC for a year? If she were to complete more that half (30+ units at the CCC), she could quite possibly qualify for a TAG with a UC of her choice, making it easier to get accepted. :)</p>
