I was accepted to Case for early action as part of the class of 2019. I loved the school so much, but I ended up going to my local state school because it was still about 10,000 dollars cheaper after the merit aid and because of pressure from my parents (my dad went to this school too.) I know it’s still somewhat early, but I really regret the decision I made because I loved Case so much and I’m still not happy at the other school. The culture is just not what I want or where I fit in. I want to apply as a spring transfer, but the deadline is October 1st, so I have no clue how I would get a letter of recommendation, let alone a good one, in less than two weeks. I have heard whispers around the internet of people in similar situations contacting the office of admissions at a college they were accepted to and the college being “happy to have them.” Is that possible at all for Case? I don’t want to spend a full year at this school, but I also don’t want to take anytime away from school. I could really use some advice.
If accepted you will likely not get as good a financial aid offer as you did last spring. How do you plan to pay for it?
@TomSrOfBoston It can still be paid for. The logic was, “why pay 10,000 dollars more for an education that was comparable in terms of quality?”
I don’t see anything saying you can’t…
Contact the admissions office and ask them what is possible ASAP

It does say “A recommendation from a college instructor.” is needed…so start becoming friendly with one in case you need that.
Who is going to pay for that extra $10000 per year? If you, think of yourself as a graduate with a job and a $40,000 loan (i.e., paying for an expensive car you don’t even get to drive)…will you be happy then?
