So I'm planning on majoring in two totally different areas, Biomedical Sciences and Spanish. For my spanish major, I do plan on studying abroad somewhere in Latin America for a few months, but I fear that it may conflict with my Biomed degree. I want to know if it could be possible for me to study abroad for a few months (3-4 months) without it having such a great impact on my other major? I'm willing to stay in college a bit longer to make it possible.

You could definitely elect to do a summer session for a month or two if you want to improve your Spanish. That’s what I did because I have to be on my campus every fall/spring to stay on track to graduate for my engineering major. I do think to get good at Spanish it takes a little longer than 2 months depending on your level coming in. 6 months to a year of immersion would probably make you a really accomplished Spanish speaker.

But I don’t think that I will have the time for 6 months to a year looking at the double major issue. I do have another major to complete at the same time. Would there be a way around that?

Well, I’d really like to help you out, I think the best advice will come from your advisors in Spanish, Biomed, and Study Abroad. Maybe you can coordinate a meeting or e-mail (more likely) that will get everyone on the same page about your goals and desires.

It makes sense. This is a top priority thing. I really want to learn this language through cultural immersion, and hopefully I will get this chance.
