IS It possible?

IS It possible?

My cousin wants to know if he could go to NYU.

LIVE IN NJ
GPA: unweighted 3.369
weighted 4.230

SAT:OCT. 720(CR) 800(MATH) 800(WR)
NOV. 740(CR) 780(MATH) 720(CR)

SAT TWO: SAT KOREAN (780), SAT SPANISH (720), CHEM(740),SAT MATH LEVEL 1(780).

CLUBS: CHESS CLUB(10~11), PINGPONG INTRAMURAL(10~11), SAVE CLUB(11),FCCLA CLUB(11), SPANISH CLUB(10~11).

COMMUNITY SERVICE

EASTBRUNSWICK LIBRARY (76HR. 20MIN.)
SUN RISE (OVER 200 HR. WITH RECOMMENDATION LETTER)

I HEARD THAT NYU CALCULATE GPA DIFFERENTLY FROM OTHER COLLEGES.
IS IT TRUE?

How come no one is answering my question?

..........

*yawn.........

peace to the world

i dunno. maybe the GPA maybe a hindrance??

haha is that your cousin's stats or YOUR stats. obviously, if you've seen other posts you know your "cousin" has a good chance. Nobody can say for sure though. Make sure you "cousin" writes a good essay.

No,this is not my stats. I did not take SAT yet, as well as my GPA is much higher than him.

My apologies. I've seen too many people on cc boards doing the same thing I've suspected you of doing. I haven't taken into consideration that you're a new member. If you've seen other chance posts (which you probably have not since you're asking this) your cousin has a very decent shot at NYU. This is why you see the cc'ers above post what they have.

what school

impossible he should apply to a community college then transfer to a lower-level state school.

So so. The sat scores are high the gpa is a tad low.

Extra curriculars aren't very consisten.

Then again what do I know

what do you mean by extracurricular activities are aren't consistent?

h2Online don't worry about it. I'm just new and it could happen to anyone. I'm actually thankful to you that you read my Thread and gave me great advice.

Not that my own are much better.

"CLUBS: CHESS CLUB(10~11), PINGPONG INTRAMURAL(10~11), SAVE CLUB(11),FCCLA CLUB(11), SPANISH CLUB(10~11)."

9-12 means consistent

But, I'm only junir. And Churchill junior high school and East Brunswick High school have different clubs.

If I do have this stats, it's not consistent. My cousin did not joined
any clubs this year and he is senior. hmm.. In addition,
I only joined three clubs that I started to join when I was freshman.

One of the clubs that I joined past few years is National Honors society.

Is this good?

ah got it.

I moved also. same problem

there is no way that nyu is a reach, sunnyd. a 3.3/3.4 is not out of nyu's consideration especially unweighted. a 4.2 weighted is awesome, and that's really what they care about from what i see. the sats are awesome. CCers are way too "driven"/"crazy"...it's practically a safety as long as there are some interesting ecs.

ah, but sunnyd has a point. What do we know?

Oh slaps forehead

I thought it was 3.3/4.0 in which case I meant their average gpa is 3.6 or 3.8 so THEN it would be a reach.

still what do I know

wait so their average is a 3.6 weighted?
