Is it rude to NOT send an email after an interview?

I didn't send a follow-up email to a majority of my alumni interviewers, mostly because we ended on good terms and I felt it was unnecessary. But it seems that everyone usually sends a letter or an email, so I was wondering if I made some kind of faux pas. Do alumni interviewers expect the applicant to follow up with them?

Thanks

It’s probably more of a tiny plus if you send one than a minus if you don’t. Just my guess. If you’ve had one in the last week or two you might still send one. Otherwise, forget about it. They probably send a report in soon after the interview anyway.
