<p>My HS daughter is considering a summer internship at Yale. She is so excited, but we are wrangling with logistics. Is it safe for her walk from the New Haven Amtrak station to campus? Is it far? What about cab availability?</p>
<p>Plenty of cabs available and a cheap fare to the campus, although it would add up if she’s taking a cab both ways 5 days a week. The walk to campus from the station goes through a somewhat rundown part of town, but in daylight hours not dangerous. I would not let a teenage daughter make the walk alone after dark.</p>
<p>There is also a Yale Shuttle -the Red line - which runs from Union Station to campus (and vice versa) every 15 minutes. It runs year round.</p>
