What's the best way to get to and from New Haven Train Station to Yale's Campus. And by taxi how much one has to pay? How much time is required to travel one way? Thanks

Hey a cab will be around 8$-10$ (depend on traffic light) it will be 5-8 minutes
you can walk it is a 20 minutes walk if you know the way.

With a bag, take a cab. At night, take a cab. If you’re female, take a cab. It’s not far, as noted, but it’s on the other side of the connector highway that cuts into New Haven from 95, tucked in past the ramps. The med school has been expanding in that direction - as on Amistad St - so it’s not skanky anymore but it’s still sketchy.

during the day, and if i had a rolling suitcase, i used to walk about 20 minutes to downtown new haven (near the campus). at night take a cab (less than $10 and 5 minutes). in the past there was also the yale shuttle, which will pick you up anywhere in new haven after dark (i think?)

You can take a Yale Shuttle on weekdays:

[Shuttle Services: Transportation Options](http://www.yale.edu/transportationoptions/shuttle/dayshuttle-red.html)

Thank you all for the info. This is very helpful.

Is there a shuttle from Yale university to Metro North Station. Does metro north to NY city operates at Union Station also. Thanks

Metro North goes from GC to NH union station. off peak is 14$ if I am not mistaken

A cab to Old Campus cost me $7 the other day. I could have taken a (free) shuttle too, but they told me it would be a 22 minute wait. I’d recommend calling for the shuttle on the train–5-10 minutes before you get to the station.

Take a taxi - do not walk.

It is a pretty short walk and totally safe, unless it is late at night. If you have luggage you might want a cab since it takes about 15 minutes to walk. Take a right out of the station, walk under the highway bridge, continue straight towards the office towers, take a left after one block onto George, take a right the next block on Orange, left the next block on Crown, right the next block on Church, left the next block on Chapel, then continue two blocks up Chapel to the Yale campus. There are also Yale shuttle buses that constantly loop around.
