Is it strange to dress like this to high school?

Okay, so first of all I'm a fifteen year old boy, but I'm hoping I can get some opinions from both boys and girls of around my age. Anyway, I like to wear suits to school, almost everyday. I attend a very typical public high school in a Milwaukee, Wisconsin and ABSOLUTELY NOBODY dresses the way I like to. I have enough suits to wear one everyday, three piece suits, two piece suits, in a variety of different styles and colors. And no, I don't like the reporter you see in the news. I wear suits a bit differently, I sometimes leave out the tie. So basically I'm fully suited up but I'm not wearing a tie. But it still looks completely formal and it gives the typical suit sort of look. I always shiny black dress shoes to go with it. I dress like this about two or three times a week. And the other two days, I wear a three piece suit, with a tie. (In case someone here doesn't know what a three piece suit is, it's basically a suit with a matching vest which you wear under your suit coat).
So question is, how is for someone to suit up like this to an ordinary public school? Once in a while I may show up at school with a dress pants, a dress shirt, a vest, and a tie. What kind of impression would you have if someone in your class were to dress like that? Any opinions? Anyone?
And by the way, I'm not white. I'm from India (so I have brown skin and black hair).
Just mentioning this to point out that I'm a bit different from most of the people at my school regardless of my dressing style : )
I'll appreciate your opinions, thanks in advance!

At most American schools, especially public schools, you will be viewed as a socially awkward nerd.

Personally, there’s a place for suits, and a public school isn’t one of them.

That they were wealthy and probably pretentious. Possible superiority complex. Nerd.

(However, I’ve worn floor-length skirts on occasion and three-inch heels almost every day, and I don’t think anyone thought too much of it because people aren’t ever thinking about you as much as you think they are. But I’m sort of weird and really socially awkward even without the strange clothes.)

No one wear suits to school on a regular basis lol.

I say you only live once do what you want. How have your classmates reacted so far?

wear whatever you want. but you’re seriously going to get made fun of so much

Have you been living in the U.S. your entire life or did you move here from India? If you were raised in India, then maybe you aren’t too familiar with social norms/tendencies in the U.S.?

I’m not bashing you, but how people dress for certain occasions can tell a good bit about how they are as a person. Wearing suits everyday to a typical public high school will not give off good vibes to people who don’t know you personally.

Well, yes it is strange.

Do I dare ask what colors?

I feel like I’ve seen this post before.

Haha, thats badass. Id see someone like that as a rich self centered snob. If youve been wearing it for a while, then ppl are gonna notice when u take it off. Lol.

Things might be different in Milwaukee, but people at my school (mediocre public in CT) do this sort of stuff often and it’s not a big deal.

I’ve only seen people on debate team, or people doing a business project wear suits.

It comes off as pretentious.
It’s not typical here.

(again I’m not being rude or anything! good luck.)

Are you moving there, or have you lived there already? There was a kid at my high school who wore a shirt/tie and dressed up everyday. He was regarded as classy and people generally liked him. This school was a bit wealthier than normal and more intellectual, but I don’t know.

For high school, as long as you have a few friends and are not made fun of majorly, it doesn’t really matter what most people think. People usually get used to it and accept eccentricities. It’s your life and you should do what you want. I’d just be mindful of the general attitude towards conformity at the school.

Anyways, girls like guys in suits, so you’ll be well of there ;)

This reminds me of one kid at my school who’s really pale and skinny. For picture day he wore a blazer to school. Lol

I personally think you sound like a pretty cool person. It is not the norm but the people who judge you are losers who need to try and feel superior to others based on such ridiculous terms. But then again, I’m 30, lol.

@beerme, that’s kind of unfair. I dress nicely enough - not a full out suit, but blazers, nice cardigans with necklaces and jewelry on nice jeans/khakis/pants. I go work at place where many people are older than me sometimes after school but it also makes me feel more professional and motivated. I don’t think it’s ‘cool’ - lots of girls are into crop tops and jersey’s over tights (I’m a girl BTW) - it’s just my own style.

Anyway, it depends on the atmosphere. People who live in warmer places, where there is a typically really informal dress code might see it as weird. I don’t personally have a problem with it - it’s going to depend on your school atmosphere and the people who attend.

You have the confidence to wear what you want- you embrace your own style.
The OP is asking if he should wear suits to a Milwaukee, WI high school and the consensus is he will be judged as odd.
If he is okay with being judged by what he wears then he should suit up as he pleases.
High schoolers are more cruel than CC posters.
I apologize to the OP and ecouter11 if I offended you.

Honestly, if someone were to wear a suit everyday at my school people would probably stare at and make rude comments towards that person. I mean if you really enjoy wearing suits all of the time, then go for it. It just seems like you would probably feel more comfortable if you wore jeans, khakis, or something of the like. If you wanted to dress nice you could wear khakis & a polo or button down, which is normal to see at my school. Overall, wearing a suit to school just seems a little extravagant.

I’m not offended, haha - I just wanted to say some people like to dress up. It’s fun to look good.

I agree motivation should inform your decision. People won’t think you’re ‘cool’ to wear a suit, but if you have good reasons and you like it, don’t let people bother you. It is a regional thing though.
