You still have plenty to go, practically 15+ more A’s you can get to boost up your GPA.

Erie Community College Calculator would be really helpful for you.
If you get all A’s in your next 51 credits you’ll technically have a 3.74, which is clearly worth it, even with a GPA like yours.

Don’t give up hope, you’re nowhere near the end yet. You’ve only taken 3 transferable classes, so what you need to do from here on out is give it your all, mostly A’s, and a couple B’s will be alright.

I had a friend who had a 2.0 his first semester, worked hard the next two semesters + summer and had a 3.6 just in time for applications, and now he’s going to CAL with me, so you have a lot of time, just budget it wisely.

the thing is ive never been a good student in high school i had like a 1.6 Gpa no that i look back i wasnt trying and doing the bare minimium i need some advice to change my ways of lazyness… and better ways of studying…

You should consider taking Counseling 1, Study Skills at SMC. It’s an 8-week, 1 unit class and I think it’ll be worth taking if you’ve never really developed good work habits before. Here’s a course description:

Honestly, 12 units a semester is not bad at all. I’d say a full schedule is 16 units. Tacking on an extra hour of class a week is totally worth it if it’ll help you get better grades.

Btw, you took 14 units of non-transferable courses? What were they?

Your transferable GPA is what counts the most. Since you’ve only taken 9 units of transferable courses, you have a lot of time ahead of you. Just focus on getting as many As as you can from here on out.

Right on, you’re on the right track w/the transfer sheet.
Might wanna put off the things that have brought you down over the years, or better yet kept you from your fullest potential.

If you put the effort into it, you can achieve exactly what you want. I wasn’t the brightest kid either in high school, but thankfully things are working out much better for me these days. It’s all about hard work man, put in the work and you’ll get a much better chance to be where you want in life. Like beardy said, make sure you don’t allow yourself to be distracted from what’s important. Go to class, read , do all the assignments, and when you need help don’t ever be afraid to ask the teacher. that’s what they’re there for. Most of them have office hours so that they can help you as well…good luck !

I had 1.66 about to transfer this year with a 3.6. First semester I had 3F’s and a W(0.00 gpa). I really had to turn it around and work my butt off to get where I am now. It’s not to late just work hard and I had to revamp everything how I studied, how i prepared for class etc… I tried a range of study techniques until I found the ones that were right for me and that fit that type of class and adjust when needed. It’s funny now that I’m taking the harder classes for my major my grades are going up(bio major). Someone gave me a good piece of advice is to let the grades come to you meaning dont worry about about getting A’s you’ll figure out how to get them it just takes time. For awhile I was stuck at getting all B’s and C’s even after working my butt off and I think it was because I was too worried about not getting the grade I wanted. Like someone else said also go to office hours ask for help from your teachers it will first of all let your teacher know that you are trying in the class and also it will help clear up any questions you have before tests which will help your grade obviously anyways hope this helped somehow and no its never to late to start!

relaxbozo, dont give up man. i was in a hole too, albeit not as deep as yours(!), but i decided that i wanted to do something in my life. and hanging out with the wrong people, and just “chillin” isn’t gonna get u anywhere in life. im still having a hard time separating school and friends. once u get your priorities straight, i’m sure you can succeed!
