<p>I'm a junior and I want to apply early decision this fall. However, I haven't taken the SAT yet- yikes! I know!</p>
<p>The thing is, if I register now and take it in June, I don't know that I'll do well. I've been so busy studying for the AP tests I have coming up I completely forgot about SATs. </p>
<p>After my last AP test I'll still have 3 weeks to do non-stop practice (homeschooled) so maybe I should just give it my best shot? Also, I did really well on my PSATs if that means anything.</p>
<p>But if I do badly and take it again a second time, will that look really bad?</p>
<p>I don't think I'll do as well as I could in October though.</p>
<p>Is October too late to have the scores in time to apply early decision? I'm a little confused about how long it takes to actually have the scores sent to colleges after the test and also how you send them.</p>

<p>You would most likely be OK in October, but do consider taking the SAT in June. With a couple weeks of prep, you might do well, taking the pressure off of yourself. (this happened for my D). Repeating in October would not hurt you at all. Good luck!</p>
<p>Take the SAT in both June and October. Use the first attempt as a trial run, to gauge your strengths and weaknesses.</p>
<p>This will help take the pressure off June ("It's just a practice test!") and give you more confidence in October.</p>
<p>It's like those "before" and "after" pictures that dieters take. If you're going to put all that work into improving yourself, it's nice to be able to look back at how far you've come.</p>
<p>I recommend taking it in June. If October is your last chance, at least you'll have a "safety net". You never know, you may do well in June, and then not as well in October due to any unforseen circumstances (being sick, getting a particularly hard CR section, what have you)
Colleges only look at the best score.
Also for those colleges that superscore, you might have an added advantage having taken 2 tests.

<p>Take it in June, but don't go in "blind." Use this month to study and try your best. Using actual SAT dates just to gauge your progress is a waste of your money. If you want to gauge your progress, use a BB test--there's no reason to spend $70. Colleges do superscore, and while there's no harm in bombing this test, it's very likely that in October you'll miss a few questions that you should easily have gotten right, thereby lowering, possibly significantly, your score in one or more sections. </p>
<p>Even if you're aiming for a 750 in all sections, don't be afraid to try your hardest and only get 700 this time, because come October, one of those 750's may turn into a 550 and you'll wish you had the 700 to take its place.</p>
<p>I'm in the same situation. I'm going to apply for ED, but I'm not ready for the SAT in June yet. However my situation is I will apply for ED and RD, so I think if I take the SAT in Oct badly and fail for the ED, I can take it again in Dec to apply for RD. What do you think ??? I'm really nervous about SAT in June. I've just finished 1/4 of the Barron's Guide.</p>

<p>I think it would be a good idea to take it. I'm not sure that extensive prepping is really that helpful.</p>
<p>I didn't take anything yet, just PSAT which my school required all students to take it. But it's very very very bad.
The reason I choose not to take the SAT in June because I plan to take one in Sep-Oct and one in Dec. If I pass the ED I don't have to worry about SAT in Dec. But if I take the SAT in June,Oct and Dec, 2 test scores will make my report look bad.
Also I haven't prepared for SAT Subject Test and I need some time to review Toefl because I'm international student.</p>
<p>I think I'm going to go for it. If I do well, it'll be a huge load off my mind this summer.</p>
<p>New Question: Should I send my scores NOW to colleges since it's free? Will they keep it on record even though I haven't applied yet and am only a junior? Could it possibly help that I'm showing interest early?</p>
