Is it too late to begin the transfer process?

It’s February 20th today, and I’m considering transferring schools for next year (I’m a freshman now). The application, and most of the forms (recommendations, transcripts, etc.) are due March 15th. Am I too late to begin this process?

Also, I want to explain my situation a bit. Initially, I was rejected from the school I’m considering transferring to, and so I ended up at another school, which I had come to terms with, and now enjoy. However, part of me still wonders what could’ve been, and is curious to see if I could get in this time around. Anyways, I haven’t been doing all the work necessary for transferring (i.e. the formalities like paperwork, getting recommendations etc.) because I kind of forgot about my desire to possibly transfer.

Sorry if this is a bit rambly or impulsive, but I just want to get a better sense of the logistics involved with transferring.

If you enjoy your college (where you’re at) don’t transfer.

Personally I don’t think its “too late” to start your college applications if they are due on March 15th. Some colleges are due March 1st in which case it would be a little too late. But for the most part, the hardest part is going to be finishing the essays in less than a month and getting those academic recommendations (as professors are busy its best to let them know ASAP).

Yeah, I’m most worried about getting recommendations (although I only need one). With that being said, is it appropriate to ask a professor for a recommendation even if you haven’t necessarily connected with them personally?
